Yes, and I liked it very much. Especially Eric Idle singing "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life".
All the proper rituals were there (the short speeches, the handing over of the Olympic Flag, the extinguishing of the Olympic Flame). Loved the phoenix rising from the cauldron, symbolizing that the Games will rise again in four years.
Liked the way they made up the field - in the form of a giant Union Jack. And all the things covered with what looked like British tabloid newspapers, but all the words were from great English writers (Chaucer, Shakespeare, Dickens, et al.).
The music? They did a good job. Think for a minute. The average age of the athletes is in the early 20s. So the concert was basically an "after party" for them, with British music suitable for that audience.
All in all, an outstanding end to an outstanding set of Games.
Yeah i watched whole opening and closing ceremony.
It was 1.30am in my country when closing ceremony started and i fell asleep two times because it was little bit boring.. there were only british singers who performed most not any extra ordinary thing that makes closing ceremony memorable... I've expected more from Britain because opening ceremony was good and entertaining..
Yes and it was absolutely terrible compared to the amazing opening ceremony. Terrible music, concepts and it wasn't inspiring. The only thing I liked was all the athletes from all countries coming together in the middle of the stadium.
I haven't
Yes :)
