Good sport for me?

Posted at: 2015-05-07
Im 15 years old (girl) and my mom wants me to get into some sports. Ive been in sports through out my life but ive never actually went through it for years. I am scared to death of fish ( dont judge ) i can swim very well though i live in a VERY cold place so i can only surf when its summer. I did gymnastics but its too kidish now. I was always amazing with dance but i dont like dancing infront of others and i can never convince my mom to let me go into cheer and i suck at figure skating. And ive always HATED vollyball and i dont like soccer either.. Can u suggest something?!

I honestly believe track will be a great sport for you. there is so much to the sport then just running, and personally I think you would do great in long jump, since you have done gymnastics because you need power. I know several girls that have done gymnastics and do long jump they are amazing at it. So give the sport a try I hope you like it.

Track and field at school. I was going to suggest cheer Haha but I guess not. Hockey, karate, tumbling, volley ball, softball and horseback riding are all fun! A list of sports I've tried and enjoyed is:

-hockey

-softball

-karate

-riding

-swimming

-gymnastics (there are 15 year olds on our competitive team..)

-cheer<3 (current)

-high jump

-volleyball (I haven't been on a team)

-soccer

-jazz/hip hop, ballet, tap dance

-tumbling (this would be good)

-sprinting(track and field)

Haha hope I helped

Play to your strengths you could try basketball, join a track and field club, you could join an indoor swim team, try skiing or snowboarding, if you can skate normally try hockey or floor hockey, if you like and are good at gymnastics go back to it, as long as you happy it doesn't matter what others think. You could also try something other than team sports like long boarding, skateboarding, rock climbing, jogging, take up kayaking or canoeing, or just join a gym. good luck ( you could also try a few just to impress your mom and tell her you didnt like any of them then try to ask for cheerleading)

Try basketball, track, cross country. Anything won't hurt to try
