Does height matter in sword fighting?

I think you need to look at where you are going to teleport to. Each sword was created to defeat a specific opponent. Your claymore might be able to crush an opponent but if your opponent is fast with a fast sword he'd have you sliced up before you could even get your sword up. It's not what you want to use but who you have to defeat that determines what kind of weapon you have to use. That takes a look at their weapons, their armor and their strategies.

Height definitely matters due to reach and leverage advantage. I'm only 5'7" and I usually find myself needing to put in a lot more effort when fighting guys a lot taller than me. That reach advantage is a killer.

However as to your question, your height shouldn't stop you from handling a claymore. Yes, being taller would provide you with certain advantages but you have to remember that a lot of people during medieval times were not that tall either. 5'7" was a very common height for knights and warriors.

Well Swords (Long/Broad) usually favor the ones who are taller. You have longer arms, longer reach. Tactics like Posta De Falconi, Kunst Des Fechtens, Abinden, Binden, Long Guard, Meisterhau exclusively favor the taller fighter. Trust me Posta De Falconi is more dangerous than an A-bomb if a skillful tall person (6ft+) Executes it.

Nope it don't matter

Height don't matter unless you are good player

So I had this chat with my friend and we were talking about what weapons we would be best at using if were teleported back in time. I said I would love to use the claymore but he said I would be better off using a sword and shield because I'm only 5'7. What do you guys think?
