Certainly there are always problems associated with doping, host selection, worker fatalities building stadia but these have always been around and were probably worse in the past.
However that will in no way cause the Olympics as an event to be eliminated.
The IOC is a big business, and probably will never disappear, but if they continue to require large sums of money to bid on hosting the Games they may not have many or any bidders, so they will have problems holding them. There were actually no bidders on the winter games after the IOC increased their costs to bid and the only city withdrew. Perhaps the IOC will clean up their act and things will get better, but we will have to wait and see.
No. The Olympics will continue, though its form and grandeur will surely evolve.
