Why are 100m sprinters all such douches?

they think their event is the reason people watch the olympics so have a bit of an ego. i personally thinks the 100m is an over hyped and over rated event. the 200m, 400m and 800m are much better to watch as far as running is concerned in my opinion

A big part of Bolt's appeal is that he comes across as a genuine regular kind of guy who just happens to be the fastest man in history.

He is laidback and doesn't take himself too seriously and likes clowning around.

This endears him to the public.

Good luck to the guy.

It's how they roll.

Some like to bask in the spotlight, particularly if they're placed on a world stage with a handful of like minded competitors, plus being built like a racehorse & clad in garishly coloured, unforgiving spandex doesn't help.

As a former track and field participant, I can tell you that just about every sprinter has a motion they go though before a race. This is called a "routine" and it makes them comfortable before torturing their body for 9-13 seconds.

They act like NFL kickoff returners. I am a fan of the NFL and it is the only way I can get some of that enjoyment given that American Football will never be an Olympic sport.

The thing with Kiwis is that they don't show any emotion until the game, race etc is over.

personality types in track

sprinter- usually the tough guys who are also pretty chill

distance runners- the hard *ss guys obsessed with track, but are wicked smart

jumpers- the weird guys who seem a little off, but really chill, especially high jumpers

throwers- the guys who are indifferent about track, but are really good.

They're just showing off a little for the camera. I don't see the problem.

I actually think Mr Bolt is rather charming.

They pose for the camera, so?

You have issues.

Whenever they show Usain Boult he's always smoothing down his hair, even though he's always got it shaved right back and basically doesn't have any hair. But he's not the only one, whenever they introduce the sprinters they're all strutting and preening and generally exuding an air of douche-baggery. Do you really need to be such a douche to be a decent 100m sprinter?

It's called their routines...

girls loves douches.
