[The fact that he doesn't have to work as hard to get that done, it's a real shame. "I think it's too bad. ... I think the things he could have done if he'd worked as hard as I do would have been even more incredible than what he has pulled off.]
Clary later apologized and the two made up, but now I believe some lights been shed on the authenticity of Clary's comments with Phelps' recent performance. Phelps has also been enjoying his fame and endorsements the last four years, and I believe he heavily relies on his natural talent, much like Clary says. So I say NO, I believe he hasn't prepared properly and that aspects unfortunate
Phelps originally didn`t plan on racing in this Olympics, and just started training about 10 months ago. Ryan Lochte, on the other hand, has been training for the past 4 years. Also, Phelps isn`t trying as hard because he said that this year, he`s just going to go out there and have fun, and not be so competitive.
People saying that he is too old don't know what they are talking about. Ryan Lochte is older than Phelps. Phelps just didn't prepare enough. Although I have a feeling Phelps is going to make a come back in these Olympics.
He essentially took about 2 1/2 years off from competitive swimming. On the other hand, Ryan Lochte and most other elite swimmers have spent the last four years concentrating on these games. I still think that Phelps is the most talented swimmer in the world, but no, he did not prepare properly.
Michael Phelps should have retired from competitive swimming after Beijing. He is just too old, now, and he doesn't have the drive that he used to. He came back only to set the medal record. A very selfish reason.
.
Glad to see people being honest here. It obvious that he is lacking dedication and training. Did anyone else notice his inability to look the reporters in the face? He keeps looking all around and not opening his mouth so you could understand what he was saying, and acts like he doesn't have a clue as to why he is not medaling. He really seems uninterested.
Yes I think he did he is on the downside of his career now Ryan is taking over
Idk about his training, but I know he was smoking pot for most of the past four years.
