Those were the days? We got 5 golds in LA! If we don't get at least 3 or 4 times that number in London we'll have done poorly. And we didn't win the 800m, Seb Coe came second behind a Brazilian guy.
We're likely to dominate the cycling, do very well in rowing, sailing and triathlon, pick up several medals in swimming, get medals in athletics, boxing, canoeing, taekwondo, have good chances of medalling in equestrian, badminton, diving and shooting.
THESE are the days. We have a real chance of putting in our best ever Olympic performance.
We have Olympic and World Champions in Cycling, Shooting, Rowing, Equestrian, Heptathlon, Taekwondo, Swimming, Triple Jump, Boxing, Gymnastics, Canoeing, Triathlon, the 10000m, Hockey, and the Marathon. We also have more athletes competing than any other nation, so in reality we have a very good chance of collecting a good haul of medals.
If they start giving medals for 4th place we will probably sweep the board.
And the not able to organise a p1ss up in a brewery award should be a cert for gold.
You never know with luck the rain might hold off for a couple of days, and we can see the events without umbrellas..
It's odds-on Theresa May for the high-jump
Unfortunately USA, China and Australia will walk away with most of the medals (as usual)
Dearest Taxi ,Red Bus rally and tube train navigation
This G4S scandal where we are lacking security is all part of one big plan to postpone the Olympics. That way we can keep all the medals!
.. in the prestige events, like 100 metres, which we won in 1980, albeit in a weakened field. I remember LA 1984 we won the 800. 1500 and decathlon. Those were the days!
