Dangerfield started on fire and Crows were a couple of goals up at quarter time Hird put Hocking onto him in the second as a tag and his possessions for the last 3 quarters didn't even equal his first quarter. (17 all up) Simply, without him the Crows fell apart. I tipped that Crows would have structural problems covering the loss of Tippett and the need for a new game plan. They are blaming the loss on not adjusting to the sliding rule, but the tide had well and truly turned in that 2nd quarter when Essendon kicked 6 goals to 1.
I could summarize it in with two words: PHUCK OFF
essendon had far more run and carry. adelaide just didnt look like they were interested after the first quarter. to be honest essendon shut them down really well. if you shut dangerfield down, then they lose their run and carry. adelaides midfield was poor. good on the bombers.
the game was tighter than 35 points would suggest. But the bombers played with raw emotion, there was finally something they could control and they did just that. If you want to see what it meant to them look at Jobe Watson after he kicked the last goal of the night, that celebration says it all.
