Why aren't the Olympics broadcasted for free online?

I mean it's the 21st century, and we shouldn't have to pay to view something the whole world is expected to watch.

I agree with this! I typed the same question into google.

Honestly I am assuming ignorance.

To the man above me, the old guy with a beard, pandora and other sites like it are free, just commercially endorsed. My tv network should provide live feeds, like the questioner said this is the 21stscraping century!

I think its all due to the fact that the people behind the Olympics are hording them. Like the fact that the people participating in the games aren't allowed to take endorsements from anyone but pre approved olympic corporate sponsors. Who are they to decide. Its probably their fault!

Thanks for asking,

Hope this help

If it was on line. Even the local people would be able to see it. Therefore there ticket sales to see the Olympics would be really low.

So the only way to block Olympics coverage from the local people is to not put it on the net.

Why don't you open up a TV firm and broadcast the next olympics for completely free

Nevermind the cost of filming....

Well I can see any event that is going on live on the BBC website for free. I'm in the UK I don't know whats going on where you are though.

Cameras cost money. Satellites cost money. Reporters & researchers to dig up all the bios cost money. Hotels & lodging for 3 weeks costs money.

@its me. Haha gives a believable reason of why only to be clearly talking utter nonsense as is online an it is free lol www.bbc .co.uk it be on there somewhere lol

Because people are assholes and want money for everything and will do anything to squeeze you for your money.

It is live on youtube

I mean it's the 21st century, and we shouldn't have to pay to view something the whole world is expected to watch.
