For me it is only the satisfaction of putting food in the freezer and on the table. I am long past the so called thrill of the hunt. To me the only thrill is in the willingness to freeze and get wet for hours on end to achieve a good hunt. A kill just means to me that it is now time to go home!
There is no thrill in killing animals. There is a thrill in hunting animals. Killing animals is kinda sad. Skinning and butchering them is kinda gross. Hunting them and eating them is fantastic.
I'm guessing "the thrill" comes from our survival instinct.
Even though hunting may seem harsh, the farms where animals are born just to became food are crueler in my opinion.
I never got it either.
That doesn't mean I'm anti-hunting though. If someone wants to hunt an animal and eat it, that's perfectly cool to me. I figure if you shoot a deer and eat the meat, maybe you save a cow or pig or a few chickens.
