I loved the NHS bit very interesting made me feel like a child when all the characters came on such as the child catcher and peter pan and others.
Also the balance of classical music - with Rowan Atkinson which was possibly the best bit - and modern pop music for people of my age was great and you were never bored, always had something to look at.
All the music was amazing and you should be very proud of yourself for taking part, defiantly something to tell your grandchildren!
I just wish we were doing it again in 2016 and so we could do another amazing opening ceremony. :)
Well, everyone will complain this is a predictable answer but it is how I feel. I thought the Ceremony was phenomenal. I was so proud to be British and sat watching the entire thing, cheering at some parts, laughing at others.
We didn't just show glorious Britain, we also showed some dark history, which I thought was great as we weren't just showing off all the good parts. We remembered the soldiers in the army, we cheered the torchbearers, we sung to the Queen.
It was amazing, I loved every moment. The people who volunteered for the Ceremony were amazing and everyone did their best, to make the night amazing.
All we were missing was a giant cup of tea. ;)
Absolutely brilliant....!!!
The best one i've seen. I have watch them all.
I was mesmerised. Even the bit with the girl & boy love story narrative texting and looking into the camera, and the kiss...aaahh.
And Her Majestic, parachuting outta the helicopter with 007 James Bond. Betcha William and Harry had a say in that.
And of course the Doctors and Nurse NHS and all the good work they do for sick kids in Great Ormond St..
Brilliant. Brilliant.
Arise. Sir Danny Boyle.
I liked the Shire part.
I liked the Industrial Revolution part (Aka Isengard)
I didn't like the NHS part
I liked the James Bond part
Mr Bean is awesome
I didn't like the hip-hop part
I liked the torch being lit
I somehow managed to sit through all of the countries being introduced. Do I get a gold medal for that?
Overall ,it was quite good.
I'm answering for about 7 people (co-workers and dentist office this morning) and we all thought the opening ceremonies were primarily junk. Everyone agreed upon the Queen and James Bond section being very good and the 5 Olympic rings with fireworks were also good. Mostly the rest of it was dark, drab, & boring. I think England did itself no favor; nothing they showed would help bring tourism dollars. Nobody goes there to look at poor people and smoke stacks, nobody wants to go there to see their hospitals and study their health plan. Mr. Bean was stupid and the different eras of the country were way too long and mostly boring. I'm not even comparing it to the previous Olympics because they set the standard almost too high for anyone to equal. It's just this was primarily a downer. I love McCartney but he's lost his voice (not including getting choked up when he began to sing). The ending with fireworks and lighting of the many flames was really good but that was it. I can only hope they do better with their closing ceremonies and they redeem themselves. A very disappointing opening we all thought. Many beautiful and historic things about the country and they showed none of it.
I thought it was spectacular. The big hill on which all the flags were placed looked very... peaceful. I also think ye way they did the torch in the big flower was stunning.
The only thing that disappointed me was Team GB's outfits; seriously, all the other countries looked lovely in their suits and native clothes, then we arrive in our golden track suits :P
Yes, I do think it was worth the money.
to be honest i think it was good. it had a good display of british pop culture but i didn't like that Voldemorte and 40 mary poppins part. everything was organised and the sets were wonderful.
yes it was worth the money the olympics increases tourism and infrastructure which helps the economy alot.
The Olympics simply showed the best of what's Britain has to offer. James Bond, Paul McCartney and who could forget about Mr. Bean? The opening has full of highlights and one which you simply can't ignore. http://drjdallasplasticsurgeon.com/
Wayyyyyy to long l
yeah but the queen seemed so miserable and never smiled and it was all good and amazing!
What did you think of the Olympic opening ceremony?
I was one of the young musicians at the opening ceremony and the atmosphere in the stadium was magnificent and spectacular !
Do you think it was worth all that money ??
Yess it was AWESOME !!!
