So how was the Olympics opening ceremony?

I'm in Australia-could not wake up that early on a Saturday, in winter.

I had no idea what was going on. First the queen jumped from a helicopter with James Bond, then for about 2 hours they announced names of countries 90% of people probably never knew existed, then some skinny dude sang a Beatles song while people on bikes with glowing wings rode around in a circle, then Paul McCartney made a bunch of people sing.

Did i mention that there were about 50 Marry Poppins' falling from the sky and there was also Peter Pan and Captain Hook? No? Well there was that.

Amazing. You should try and see it (perhaps on youtube or something). It was very much like a show, very dramatic, funny, interesting, exciting and effective - highlights including James Bond parachuting into the ceremony with the Queen, Mr Bean playing with an orchestra 'Chariots of Fire' and a breathtaking recreation of British History through the Industrial Revolution 17th/18th Century to the present day. Truly phenomenal.

It was everything i expected....Politically correct "multicultural cr*p with that tw*t bird from liberty (people who spend their lives crying about the "rights" of terrorists and child rapists etc) sharmi chakrabati, plus they wheeled out stephen f*cking lawrences mum again. All announcements made in french before english too( and yes i know why, but it is no less bullsh*t) That was without mentioning the fact that Brunel appeared before the industrial revolution had even started! The first and second world wars apparently happened when Brunel was still alive as well!! Was every bit as sh*t as i thought it would be. Only half decent bit was the flame. What the f*ck were the GB teams outfits about? F*cking stella McCartney sh*t.

I'm live in Australia too! I only saw it after 9:00 am. Unfortunately, I missed out on most of the stuff. But as far as I know, it was great!

It was, as I have heard, pretty unexciting, except that the firework display was pretty fantastic. Here is a link to a .gif of the show.

Well, It started out alright but it got progressively worse and worse. They tried to portray the average teenager in Britain and it didn't turn out very well. I thought it was kinda stereotypical and too funky.

You can watch it here

it was somewhat weird and Gothic, and apocalyptic, something out of the roman era.

It was amazing

first performance was very good....... but overall it was just okay.........nothing special
