Should I join gymnastics? I'm 14.?

I reeeeally want to join gymnastics but do you think it's too late? I am hyper mobile, i can do box splits and forward splits, bridge, (I can do other weird things kind of like contortionist tricks and stuff) cartwheel, Roundoff, handstand and my friend seems to think I have potential, I'd like to go elite someday I know that sounds pretty ambitious but I'm a pretty fast learner. Though my mum can't afford to pay £100 a month for elite training. I am known for my dedication and passion, when I really want something, do you think it could be possible to go elite some day? Maybe a slim chance of the Olympics? (I know it's a bit unrealistic but I'm just an ambitious person (: ) I'm 5"3 and around 110 lbs, and my fitness is at a decent level.

i agree it is never too late there are older gymnasts it all depends on your ability and determination. go for what you want... don't let anyone tell you that you can't do somethinG.

since you are flexible you should go to start refining your skills and begin to do them correctly if you aren't already.Even if you didn't know much you can always learn....everyone is different there is no set standard if you make it you make it if not you had fun or can maybe teach others in the future if it becomes a passion of yours.

dream big and don't hold back and regret never doing what you had put your mind to

Ignore that negative comment above.

It's never too late to start anything. It sounds like you've got the drive and the skill already there and just need the tuition, training and practice.

At only 14 you could go into anything.

I'd say go for it. Apart from the competing side of things, it will make you ridiculously fit and will be great for your body.

I hope this helps.

:)

far too late to start and no "elite trainer" would even look at you, zero chance at the olympics most gymnasts are at their peak at 14 and elite training would be more than £100 a week, you can always do it for fun but as you haven't done it yet you might not like it

Nothing's too late! I joined level 1 cheerleading this year and I'm 14. You'll be fine, give it it a go!

i started rhythmic gymnastics im 13 years old, im flexible and i train at home almost everyday so you are 14 if you really want to join gymnastics you should train everyday and take it seriously.

'age is no barrier'

Gymnastic's is very heathly for your body!!

If you feel you can succeed at it..then join it
