I've thrown a javelin enough times to know that it's nothing like throwing a baseball.
Assuming you don't have time or access to coaching to learn how to throw a javelin properly, just remember this: Throw so that you put the back end of the javelin through to front. Do that one thing right and the javelin won't flutter. Fluttering is the main reason why javelins fall.

It depends on your strength. It is hard to get the javelin in a straight line therefore falling sideways.

"Nominated" ? Haha, that's funny ! Suggest that you borrow one to practice. Ask your PE teacher to assist, if he/she can. They probably never threw one either ( :

I was nominated for javelin in my school sports carnival. but i have never thrown a javelin and i am freaking out. is it hard to do?
