Is competitive cheer a sport?

Most people say that competitive cheer isn't a real sport. The definition of sport is "an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment." So wouldn't it count? We work so hard to do very hard flips and lift people in the air. I just want to know what you guys think.

Yes it is. A lot of people aren't educated about cheerleading and think that competitive cheer is the same as school cheer just waving your arms, shaking pom poms, jumping out and down and shouting. wrong!! competitive cheer is hard! You have a little over 2 minutes to do jumps, tumbling, motions, dance, stunts and a pyramid. Yeah level 1 is a joke but level 5 & 6 are so amazing and unless people can do double fulls then they are in no position to talk.

yes

Of course it's a sport! If sweeping ice getting something to a circle is an Olympic sport, competitive cheer defiantly is!

Yes it definitely is, as long as you're not just yelling and waving your arms.

Yes it is. They have competitions, involves physical conditioning, and skill

yea but its cant be taken seriously because appearance is part of the score. its the same thing for figure skating and synchronized swimming and rhythmic gymnastics.
