Don't be worried!!! The first time I had tryouts I didn't have any tumbling.
With your experience you will do absolutely fine. Regardless you will definitely make any team, ranging in level 3 or 4.2. If you are short but muscular you will be a base. If you don't have muscle, you will definitely be a flyer. The dancing part is usually when you go for competitions, and you have lots of time to remember the moves. So don't be worried! You are guaranteed to get on a team, trust me. If you can tumble, be flexible, and have pretty nice jumps, you'll make it, don't worry.
Smile and if you mess up pretend you didn't notice! And when they teach you the dance record it with a friend and go over it a billion times. It also helps to be friends with the coach ad the cheer moms and their kids.
most important thing : CHILL OUT.
i just tried out a couple of months ago i tried out too. i have too admit i was really nervous also but you just got to chill out. if you keep worrrying and stare at the judges the whole routine at see what they are doing you are just going to look distracted.
its not all about jumps, skills, and tumbling you gotta have SPIRIT
Expressions, smiles, and spirit is the only thing that will save you if you mess up. if you mess up KEEP SMILING and act like you SUPPOSED to do that and carry on with the routine :)
Good luck !
you're a cheerleader, you're supposed to cheer people up and being nervous won't help one bit. Relax, breathe and smile. =)
hope u mess up
