Best push-up workouts come from working top middle and bottom of the chest. I would start by doing a set with your butt in the air and lower down so you are doing a push-up but you're pushing upwards. Do that till max out (till you can't do anymore) wait 30 seconds. Then do flat normal push-ups till max out, wait 30 seconds. Then do them against a chain or table but slouching inwards letting your butt drop to the ground so you are pushing down, do that till max out. Do 4 sets of that three times a week and your chest strength should increase in a very short time.
Just and fyi, your first sets will get good numbers you last two will be single digit, you will be tired.
Count backwards..so the first is 25 and go down from there...doesnt make it easier, but somehow body and brain think it does. Studies have shown that counting forward in exercise was not as effective as ciunting backwards.
BTW..can ur coach do 25? Tell ur coach to show u her/his technique. Bet the outcome of being able to cheer will change.
Best of luck to u
You will only increase the number of push ups by constant practice. The one method you can use to help achieve 2 or 3 extra push ups is to change your leg positions. Keeping your feet close together and widening to spread the load.
Do more push-ups.
Get push-up bras.
Push Up off of a table.
Push an UPS package.
Push up on gravity.
Deal with it.
get stronger or make sure your base is about shoulder width cause to close will suck and to far base will suck
