Because Spring and Fall sports can be played in either the Summer or Winter Olympics.
And in case you didn't know, hosting the Olympics costs a boat load of money, and it's almost always more than the host city will actually profit from.
The Sydney Olympics in 2000 were held in our spring, which would have been autumn/fall in the northern hemisphere. But really it's just a way to seperate the warm and cold weather sports as they cant feasibly be held in the same place at the same time.
The 2000 Sydney Olympics were held at the start of Spring (just after winter) because it would've been to hot in summer to compete.
What would they have that aren't at the summer Olympic Games?
Seed-planting in the spring games and leaf-blowing in the fall ones? :)
