I doubt very much that a country that is surrounded by nothing but people who want to raze it to the ground and rape it's women would teach it's soldiers a hand-to-hand combat system that isn't effective. Krav Maga is an excellent H2H combat system, and many of its techniques have been adopted by the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program, particularly it's bursting strategy and weapon disarming techniques. It's really great to hear practitioners from more traditional martial arts give Krav a chance. Krav is not very elegant, doesn't require much skill or talent to learn, and is rarely seen in media due to how dull and ugly it is to watch. But it gets the job done.
Krav Maga is the best for street in my opinion as for the guy above me stating that a boxer would beet u I disagree .. A boxer would win if hands only but not the streets ? That's your game I thank ud do great .. Even against bjjers and judo fighters .. On the street
If your instructor is really good and legit then i'd tend to agree for how quickly it can get you to a level of being able to fight in a short amount of time. With that being said i'd put money on it a world champion boxer, or world judo/bjj champion would kick your asz. However, Who cares? What are the odds of you fighting one of the best at their fighting skill? Good job on finding something that works and makes you able to handle yourself.
No its not, learning how to deal with suicide bombers, hostage situation, IUD's and hand grenades is useless. And that is exactly what we learned in Krav Maga
I think it is I've been doing it for a year or two and it the most effective out of the stuff I've already done ( TKD, Karate and boxing). What do you think?
