Can someone help me with my gymnastics?

I started about 6 months ago, in rhythmic gymnastics, I've wanted to go for so long. It's the thing that gets me up in the morning, I'm in love with it and addicted to it, it's the one thing that keeps my depression (yes) at bay, it just makes me so happy.

But the thing is, I can't do anything. I've trained and stretched every day for hours to get my splits, for 10 months, I'm still not down, I've tried everything.

I can't do a forwards of backward walkover, and I literally cannot straighten my arms in bridge. Not to mention my hand-eye co-ordination, dance and other flexibility.

So how can I improve? Any stretches? I can't get anyone to help me, everyone's too busy, including my family. So please help:)

Also, don't tell me I'm not made for it or anything like that, because I know, and I don't care.

It will hurt but challenge yourself. Every time a commercial comes on do the split until the commercial time is over and your tv show comes back on. That helps a ton. Just doing it everyday and stretch the inner thigh muscles. Do butterfly and push your legs down to the floor. And just keep doing the split. Also try and hold your hands of the ground for as long as you can. good luck!

You're just a beginner, so you will have plenty of time to get it down if you keep on stretching. Trust me... When I first started lacrosse I was TERRIBLE beyond belief! Now it's my 3rd year and I'm on the best team their is! It just takes time, effort, dedication! And BTW if you don't do this already, try the pancake or butterfly stretch! The pancake stretch is where you put your legs out as far as possible and try to get you're stomach to the floor. And I'm pretty sure you know what the butterfly stretch is but if you don't just look it up. (: GOOD LUCK!

Are you mad 10 months is not enough maybe two years with good practice do not be hard on yours self as you will make yourself hard. Try eating wild rice mixed with white rice dishes with plenty if deep green vegetables especially leafy variety. Cut down on tomatoe meat especially red meat and onion dishes. Invest in a good juicer and make sure you juice celery. Drink Chinese green tea especially from Fujian province it alkalines your blood stream reducing I flamarion a problem in modern society the inflammation is your enemy. Reduce your baked food intake like white bread this causes inflammation. Don't use intoxicants as they damage muscles receptors and sinuse. Concentrate on corpse pose meditation to lighten and energise the body. Enjoy your spark you lucky person don't be hard and too extreme on yourself passions can be broken, cherish your own natural pace.
