Just one kick didn't do it. Repeated kicks over an extended length of time did. Small stress fractures and bruising weakens the bone.
that's an interesting question bro.. I was wondering the same.. u gotta think that silva would be more then repaired for this fight being a muey thai type fighter. those guys are known for having well conditioned legs to take this kinda punishment. it looked like Anderson landed a shot that wassent even that hard, I mean it was hard but It dint look that hard.. and it snapped in half...
my guess would be its a variety of things, I mean hes put a lotta punishment on that leg, and on top of that his age, if u noticed Andersons got some greay hairs now. as you age your body just weakends and theres no stopping it, not even Anderson silva can. I think what where seeing is someone whos ageing and body issent the same as when he was younger.. thatd be my guess..
He overtrained, probably- Didn't give his legs enough time to recover from one set of microtrauma before setting the next load onto them.
Hitting the knee will do that. Lots of youtube clips prove it
I mean, hes a tough guy but i dont understand how one kick snapped it in half...
