For me i think it was Hawthorns Dermott Brereton back in the 80s but i could be wrong. So has there been anyone else (AFL player) that you can think of that likes to light up after a game? For me i think it was Hawthorns Dermott Brereton back in the 80s but i could be wrong. I know that Eddie Betts has a *** occasionally and a cigarette too : ))

You didn't happen to ask Dermie what was in those smokes by any chance, did you Shifty?

I reckon half the players in 1978 smoked but it wasn't long after then it became 'unacceptable' to go to training, bust your guts for two hours 'getting fit' and then sit down have a pie, beer and a few ciggies! I reckon Dipper may have had the occasional cigar.

The last back in the 80s?Hmmmm........

Laurie Hill with the Pies, way back. He used to light one up in the dressing room pre-game, to ease tension.
