Could a puny guy play rugby or would he get thrown all over the place? Also what about some nations like Japan, India, Korea they all have short physically weak people could they play rugby if they had to? or would their nations get hammered when playing against big muscled blue eyed North European guys?Could a puny guy play rugby or would he get thrown all over the place? Not entirely. The big powerful guys are mainly forwards, flankers, locks, tight-ends, etc. These are important in certain set-pieces (scrum, throw in), and to push the ruck to move up the field. Smaller and less compact players are mainly backs. Scrum-halfs, fly half's, full backs, wingers, centers etc. These are players who require pace and agility, the players who mainly get the tries. Fly-halfs usually take kicks at goal (penalty, conversion). Most points in rugby are scored by the backs.
