Sad day for all WCE fans especially me, a man i idolise my game around is hanging up the boots, not cause he wants to but because his body wont allow him to play. Now with Dick, Hams, Nicoski, Embley and Selwood retiring it really hurts. You will be missed! man i dont want him to retire NOOOOOOOOOOOOOSad day for all WCE fans especially me, a man i idolise my game around is hanging up the boots, not cause he wants to but because his body wont allow him to play. I liked Embley more than any of the others. Just had a cool lope :-)

Nicoski and Selwood could have played 2 more years, both only 29 years of age, and Brad Dick? Christ, he kicked 8 goals in a WAFL Game couple weeks ago, looked in GREAT form, dunno why his hung up the boots, and as for the rest like Embley and Hams, I guess both players just didn't get enough opportunity's.

But I thought WCE were flag favorites

When Goodwin, McLeod and Burton retired (along with an exodus of previous POSA players like Ken McGregor, Scott Welsh, Scott Stevens, Hayden Skipworth et al) it marked the end of an era and a beginning of a new one for my beloved POSA! It only took them another 2 years of blooding some good quality youngsters combined with getting a couple of seasons under the belts those who are now core players for the POSA, before we made a prelim final (and should have made a GF). Change may not be desirable... but it is often for the best.
