What Martial art should i go for?

Based on what information you have given here (better with your feet) I would recommend trying to find a Songham TKD school. Eternal Grand Master Haeng Ung Lee reverted the TKD system back to the more traditional combat application after establishing the ATA in Omaha in 1969. TKD focuses on the dynamics of quick, powerful kicking, and also incorporates hand and elbow strikes, and common defense techniques to complete the system.

People will "bash" TKD as being 'sport' or "watered down", and it is true depending on the school and instructor. But that goes for any of the styles being taught, there are good instructors and bad ones. Try to find a school that has a head instructor that is serious about the real world practical use of the system for self-preservation. The sport/competition aspect of the training is not what you want if you are focused on using it to protect yourself realistically.

I currently train with a 7th degree Sr. Master in ATA Songham TKD in Bellevue, Nebraska (USA). His primary focus for all his students, and his affiliates school instructors, is the practical application of technique. The muscle memory and conditioning of forms is described as that, muscle memory and conditioning training.

The WTTU and STF are also branch organizations of the Songham TKD system. If you find that TKD is not suited to what type of training you are seeking, there are a wide variety of martial systems that are available that incorporate kicking to various degrees. Try to find the system that fits you needs best, and then seek out the instructor that is focused on use of system rather than "style" and "form". Forms ARE inherent to almost all TMA (traditional martial arts) for the purpose of muscle tone and memory. There are a few non-traditional systems that do not use "forms", but the training methodology is distinctly different in those type of systems.

Oh, and one thing to keep in mind, ignore Keyboard Warrior. He only espouses on MMA and his comments lead one to understand that he lacks awareness of the true effectiveness of traditional systems which ALL mixed systems are derived from. My foundation in MA is based in Western Boxing, traditional Japanese (combat style) Jiu-Jitsu and Karate, and military hand-to-hand combat (American and British SAS systems). To that end I chose a KRAV MAGA ALLIANCE school because of the non-traditional structure of the system. But I I mentioned before, there will be good and bad schools and instructors no matter which system you try. Finding a quality instructor is the FIRST PRIORITY in learning effective martial arts.

Now I'm going to get "bagged on" for promoting Krav Maga, but when you find a good school and instruction it CAN be the system you might be looking for. And their schools are available internationally, but sadly not in all locations. Best of luck to you in your training, find what is right FOR YOU and train at your best. Even if you do not do well in the beginning, give yourself the time and opportunity to develop into the Martial Artist you seek to be.

styles are neither of children nor adults only people that make such outrageous claims dont know anything about martial arts. in fact one particular one spent his entire training in a mcdojo and that same person now a blue belt teaches in a mcgym.

There is no best style.

They will all work as long as you train right and have a good instructor.

Your size, body type and sex have nothing to do with the style you want to choose. People that think that your size and body type determine the style know little to nothing about martial arts

styles are made to adapt to your body type

Most people will tell you there style is the best or they heard such and such is a great style,

The style is not important, what matters is how good your instructor is and how you train. The style is secondary, they all have there pro's and con's there are no superior styles.

If you have an instructor that can’t teach you how to fight, regardless of the style, what good would it do you?

Choose a school with a good instructor in the end that’s all that matters, that and how you train.

Its the person that has the ability to fight not the style

Any style will work great, if the teaching is true, and the student stays the course. There is no quick fix. Also, many schools put profit ahead of quality, so it is essential that you make your choice based on the commitment of the instructor to traditional teachings, not on rating one style relative to another.

Do MMA. It's what UFC fighters do. Do you think anyone messes with them?

Karate and TKD are for children.

Kw andersoen Silva got promoted in tkd for his kick on vitior and so did Lyoto and Showtime is either tkd or karate Dan what does that tell you. Tkd is sick at a full contact level but will beak you hence ken shamrocks arms. Dont knock what you don't do full contact.

jeet kun do which

is a hybrid system

and applies to real world situations

Martial arts for self defense is an illusion. It's a big fat lie. The "self-defense" that is referred to in most martial arts courses is specifically aimed at (and limited to) the school or tournament arena. Now I'm talking only about ordinary civilians like you and me who may be looking for a typical McDojo in your typical American strip mall. The martial arts tought to US Marines, Navy Seals and other combat forces around the world have a totally different focus. Their goal is to kill enemy soldiers. And so called self-defense just happens to be a small part of that venue. Here's a link that applies much more directly to ordinary people who just want to get on with their lives and feel safe. Its subject is Situational Awareness and Crisis De-Escalation.

the one where you buy a gun and learn how to use it effectively.

I want to learn martial arts for self defense because well going into the world im not a strong person if someone tries to hurt me i want to know i can defend myself.
