There are no such thing as dirty tactics when you are defending yourself. It is only dirty when you compete in a sport and they are against the rules. But there are no rules in self defense. Everything is fair game.
No one can provide you all of the martial arts as there are too many and no one knows them all. Additionally we don't know what is available in your area. I can tell you hapkido, go ju ryu. shito ryu, etc, but if there are none of the schools near you it would be pointless. You must find out what is near you and visit several different classes before you decide on the best place that you should go. Don't choose a style. Choose a good instructor. Grant it you my not know what a good instructor is. But you can make a well informed educated guess after you have visited several school near you. Ask questions. Take notes. Take the trial class if they have one.
I have never worked as a security guard or personal security specialist, but my old Krav Maga (KM)teacher trained police officers and security guards, so I do not know who is telling you that it's just the art of fighting dirty. My KM instructor left the US Army Special Forces as a E8 and spent 10 years as a bodyguard for some very well known people before he opened his school. Not all instructors have that kind of credentials, but I do not think he would have taught it if he thought is was not useful to LEO's and those in your line of work.
First Krav Maga is not used by the police or security
You were given the answer you just were not listening.
You first need to consider if you injure the person you can be heald accountable in both industries.
Many tradional arts are use in both because they cover all aspects that you will need in one style. Karate, kung fu, aikido, judo, etc are all used by police and security, they are not limited by the style it's up to the person to choose what he wants to use.
Police academy's teach all various styles along with the military. There is no single perfect style if there was we would all be training it
If you don't know much about MA then you should've listened to us. Too bad if you didn't, look at your old question again.
One question, do you like Guard Walmart or something?
just go for krav maga dude, that is exactly what you want and need.
You've already asked this question, and have gotten definitive answers (and if you think you didn't, then you have absolutely no idea of what the word "definitive" means). Go back and re-read them.
wrestling is what you need. Take guy down and half of job is done.
So I asked a similair question the other day but didn't really get a definitive answer , I'm currently working in security , and I want to try a martial art of some sort martial art , mostly to build my confidence in knowing I can defend myself! I don't expect to be going an kicking the sh*t out of everyone cos I've learnt how to kick! I liked the idea of "krav maga" but I've been put off it as I was told its "basically the proud art of fighting dirty" an you aim for week spots an stuff to really hurt someone , that's not what I'm after really , something where I'd be tought to disarm , tackle and strike , something often used in the army, police and security (other than krav maga) which is also quite exspensive! I don't know much about martial arts so please don't be using abbreviated names an such! :')
