First off, I wouldn't even take the "punch in the throat" advice into consideration. A person with "so much" experience and training should know better than to give advice like that. But I remember how high school was and in most cases if you don't stand up for yourself against one bully, more are sure to come. Schools have consequences for both parties involved so if it's really worth it to you.... take them down, otherwise walk away and be the one who's being the bigger person.
Yes. If you are confident in your ability to win, next time they shove you punch them right in the throat. Since it will be multiple attackers, aim for sensitive areas like the neck, balls, kidneys, and solar plexus. Always hit first and ask questions later. If/when you get in trouble, it will come down to the fact that they are the ones that initiated physical contact. Be cautious though, one of them could be carrying a concealed weapon, or be a highly trained fighter.
School fights are usually outlawed in school, no matter with side you are on. The school makes the rules.
In the adult world, that contact of pushing you constitutes an assault.
You are not "allowed" to beat them up. You are allowed to protect yourself.

I've had some problems with some punks at school who always push me. Is it considered swinging first? Cause if it is, I'm alowed to beat them up if they push me again. Don't worry about me. I know techniques on how to fight multiple people at once.
