should I try out?

Posted at: 2015-05-07
I want to try out for the cheerleading team at my high school. I have no experience and I feel like I weigh to much. I'm 5'10" and I weigh 190 lbs. I'm really strong and my friends want me to do it but like I said, I have no experience, and I'm overweight. But I am strong.

If you're interested in cheerleading, go tryout for it! Every girl seems to want to be a flyer. But coaches need twice as many bases as we need flyers. Many of us are hungry for bases and back spots! If this is the case at your school, the coach will be especially delighted to see you.

Don't believe the stereotype that all cheerleaders are 5'1", 95lbs and wear a size 0. It's not true. I have cheerleaders of all shapes and sizes on my squads. They're amazing athletes. We have the trophies to prove it. ????

The main thing is your confidence. Whatever you're working with, own it! Use it! It'll work out so much better for you than sitting on the sidelines wishing you had tried. You can do it. ????

Weight doesn't matter! I've cheered with plenty of girls who are overweight and they were great! I think you'll be great, especially if you're strong―you could make a great base. Even if you don't have any experience, you can definitely still try out! Perform as best as you can, and make sure to smile!

Your weight doesn't matter. I too felt like I weighed to much before I tried out for my cheer squad and I made it. Just do your best

I think you should try out. it doesn't matte how much you weigh.
