cheerleading help!!!!!!?

im trying out for cheer but i cant seem to do any of the jumps. im abit flexible and can get into the splits. when i do a jump my legs wont get off the ground like there supposed to can anyone help me with some methods to help me improve this? im in highschool and cheerleading is my dream right now i dont wanna give up.

Try to get your oversplit, some people need to be over a split to get to a straddle. Try to get someone to hold you y the waist and kind of just lift you off the ground, of course you have to jump though. Do your jumps this way, if you can get it, eventually you will be able to do it without the help of someone else. Make sure to swing up your arms, try it on a trampoline, this helps you get air and it will break your fall so you don't get hurt. I hope this helps, and good luck~

It's okay take a breath, you need to stretch your legs first which will give you more flexibility to lift your legs, normal side stretching or something stretching your legs is fine do this everyday and you will see an improvement, you'll get there :)

Sit in a straddle and lift your legs off the ground. Sounds really weird but it works the muscles that will help you do a toe touch.

Really think about using your arms to drive your hips up with your legs!
