I mean, I know they're famous and all, but what benefit do they have to society except to entertain the people? I mean police officers and teachers actually shape futures; they don't.

Money, teachers and cops don't bring in thousands of people that are willing to pay $60+ dollars a ticket to see them. People will turn on a football game and watch that all night, not a lecture from a math teacher. As an owner of a sports team those players make them massive amounts of money. Teachers and cops bring in very little revenue to anyone really.

They are entertainers, just like actors and musicians they make what someone is willing to pay them not what they are worth to society.
