Dictionary definition: Gymnastic exercises designed to develop muscular tone and promote physical well-being.
My definition: Exercises, usually simple, that involve using only your body (no weights, etc.) and are aimed at promoting fitness and health. Examples are push ups, sit ups, jumping jacks, mountain climbers, you get the point.
I guess that's the general 'American' definition, although I can't guarantee that it reflects the definition of the entire American population. ;) Hope that helped.
'Calisthenics' is a catch-all term for exercises using your own body weight.
Never heard of the term being used in any other way, myself. Learn something new every day.
A form of exercise or physical training. The military use to use the term for morning workouts. One thing for sure, it's not marital arts.
It was the term we used for basic exercises using only your body. Jumping Jacks, push ups, toe touches etc.
The term isn't used as much anymore but it's still around. He'll even us old timers don't use it!
What do you call it?? in Australia it is a dance group thing like ballet mixed with gymnastic and dance. Everytime I google it it shows gym stuff
