AMAZING! I Absolutely loved the Suffragettes part as I have been studying it in History and if Emmeline Pankhurst knew that her great granddaughters - Laura and Emily Pankhurst - would be at the 2012 London Olympics supporting the Votes for Women well she would be very proud.
I loved the NHS bit very interesting made me feel like a child when all the characters came on such as the child catcher and peter pan and others.
Also the balance of classical music - with Rowan Atkinson which was possibly the best bit - and modern pop music for people of my age was great and you were never bored, always had something to look at.
I just wish we were doing it again in 2016 and so we could do another amazing opening ceremony. :)
I thought it was well done. My problem with it had nothing to do with the production, which was great. I just really feel that these ceremonies should be tailored to ensure maximum athlete participation. So many athletes didn't participate because of the length of the ceremony and they were playing the next day. The focus should be on the games and the athletes.
But Great Britain should be proud. Overall it was a very nice show and educational.

When it started, I hated it because it was awkward and I felt it wasn't put together all that well. But once they finished the rising of the smoke stacks and they started the forging of the rings I got super interested! I loved every bit of it and watched it in pure awe. Until they got to Paul McCartney...that man sounded awful. Other than that it was amazing and the fireworks at the end were incredible! By the way, I'm from the USA :)
VERY COOL. personally , They should've put a super huge rock concert ( get ALL !!! the huge British bands from all gendre DJs too ) for the opening ..then get the Queen drive up on a double decker to fire up the flame..that would top all olympic opening from past and future !!!
I have no personal opinion to express of it as I deliberately did not watch any of the 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony !
N.B. Lord Coe (Yawn !) & Boris Johnson (Yawn !) have not won me over to the 2012 Olympics at all !
It was so disappointing I was soo bored I can't believe people are saying its one of the best and topped China's it was nowhere near, didn't flow just jumped from bit to bit when it seemed to go through the times you would of thought they would of done it in order you know by decade revolution, slavery & immigrants etc. The Bond spoof was lame even the Queen looked bored at times when team GB came out she was more interested in picking her nails!
Although the bit after the countries came out was better. Dude from Arctic Monkeys can't sing but the instrument playing was nice & songs weren't bad Beatles cover was aight
