Was the call against McLeod justified?

Did McLeod really take longer than 6 seconds thus delaying the game or was the referee just biased towards the Americans?

It was wrong and a terrible call

Quite simply, the officiating was corrupt. It was clearly biased toward the Americans. It was not just the call against McLeod, but the awarding of unmerited free kicks, and that absolutely horrid hand ball-penalty call. Not to mention, in extra time the Canadian players got absolutely MUGGED!!! That Abby Womback is unquestionably one of the dirtiest and most unsportsmanlike athletes I have ever seen.

The US did not earn their victory today. As far as I am concerned, any medal they win in women's soccer now is tainted!

The FIFA rule specified that referee ONLY make a call of indirect penalty after REPEATED warnings to the GK, who make at least 2 times delay of more than 6 seconds.

In addition, the "hand ball" direct penalty call was of MARGINAL, QUESTIONABLE officiating...

Conclusion: Bravo to the HEROIC Canadian women soccer team, they have been cheated out of winning!

I'm not sure. She held the ball a while but I wasn't keeping track of how long she held the ball. She may have been doing it multiple times before then and the ref finally had enough. The only thing I do know is that the ref wasn't in anyway biased towards the USA. She made a shizload of crappy calls both ways

1) Yes, she did take longer than six seconds.

2) Before the 45:00, she was warned when she kept walking back and fourth in an attempt to drain the clock into the half.
