Locate an ideal bowfin fishing ground. In lakes, look for areas with lots of underwater vegetation. In a river, look for bowfin among rocky regions.

Cast your line, and set it with a flick of the wrist if you feel a bite.

Reel the bowfin in slowly. They are strong and can snap your line. By taking your time on the reel, you can wear the bowfin down while slowly reducing its distance from shore or boat.

Always wear a glove when removing your bowfin from the line, as they have sharp teeth capable of drawing blood.
