HELP! What Sport Should I do?

Posted at: 2015-05-07
All right, I'm 13, 4'11 1/2, and horrible at sports. HORRIBLE. I have a fear of basketballs, soccerballs, and any kind of ball, I'm quite bad at running, and am very uncoordinated. I'm a klutz, and always am tripping and falling and it's kinda sad :3

I used to do martial arts, but it just wasn't for me, and I haven't been participating in a sport for a year now, and I'm out of shape, so I want to get back into shape and join a sport.(Not really, but I should join a sport.)Are there any sports out there that might be for me? Or am I hopeless and should just stick to running and riding my bike? .____.

If you don't enjoy sports, you don't have to do them. Not everyone is good at sports, ik I'm not haha. It sounds like you don't really like team sports. Try more recreational sports instead, like mountain biking or skateboarding or snowboarding or surfing or golfing or ultimate frisbee. I hattee team sports but love snowboarding and biking. And there's nothing wrong with not doing a sport, since most are pretty boring. Rather just get some pizza and chill with friends haha.

Try wrestling because it is by weight class and there are no balls involved. But if you don't want to do sports, then don't do them. It is pointless to do something that you will not enjoy. Running and riding your bike are good alternatives. You can also practice other sports and you will improve.

Try Track & Field! You could run sprints, long distance, jump, or throw!

Hmm...................

Ok, well you're afraid of balls. I may or may not be able to solve that problem. So I'm fine with balls, any balls; they're nothing to fear about for me. Except getting hit. I was once smacked in the face by a ball at recess, and from then on I avoided all balls and freaked out each time I heard a ball being kicked--or anything similar. So to solve that problem, I tried to get over my fear by playing catch. I would toss a ball back and forth with someone. Nothing to fear of. Then I'd switch to.................................

Baseball. My friend or someone would throw a ball. I catch it in my mitt. And after I was completely comfortable with that, finally I'd play basketball, or I've noticed soccer would work too. It depends on whether you're more afraid of hitting balls or kicking.

So then I was able to get comfortable with that, and if you can do that, you don't have a fear of balls anymore!

And um if you're so uncoordinated...............

Try some sort of an obstacle course. You have a playground in your neighborhood, right? Probably. Make up an obstacle course! Like for me, I made one up just for fun!

1. Climb up a swirly slide.

2. Walk down this thing you can climb...

3. Run around the mini sandbox.

4. Swing on the swings 3 times.

5. climb up the baby slide.

6. Spin the little wheel 3 times.

7. Do the whole monkey bars.

8. Jump down the fence.

9. Shout cheesy monkey without laughing.........(random)

So you can do something like that for coordination.

If you want to join a sport...........................

Well if you're afraid of balls, get over your fear! Are you afraid of hitting or kicking balls? Actually I can guess it'd be both.

So um.......let's see............You can try......Oh yes, I got it!!!

Volleyball!
