As for her floor routine, her 9.100 execution was huge....but it wasn't enough for her level of difficulty. Judges could pick and see her deductions which contributed to her not getting a 15.5 or higher.
Overall, i think Gabby did a better job. I believe tomorrow is uneven bars final, Viktoria might get her revenge, since Russians are excellent when it comes to the uneven bars.
The final event was the floor exercise; Douglas scored 15.033 (rather than '16.low') and Komova scored 15.100, so Komova's routine *was* scored higher.
Have a read of the linked question from immediately after the competition. A lot of people here thought Komova's routine was flawless and were surprised she didn't score higher, although probably not high enough to change the result. I think a lot of old folk such as myself weren't aware of the degree to which athleticism now outweighs artistry in the scoring.

Olympic judges probably know more about gymnastics than you or I do, so I would trust their opinions and assume that Gabby is the best there is. Good for her.
Gabby clearly won because the Russian floor routine wasn't as good as it needed to be, and I agree with the judges. I know many jealous racist foreigners that cry that Americans get inflated scores all because their own country sucks, ant it's almost fun to watch these whines make their pathetic claims.
well, considering there is a system of how what gets you deducted x points, it was fair. its not an opinion by the judges.

American received inflated scores, chinese girls as usual were underscored. Both russian and chinese got robbed because the judges gave black girl a "gift".
ok basically i was watching her compete for all around best gymnist. viktoria the russian was competing against her. at the very last event/thing gabby scored a 16.low number. the tv said the russian would need at least a 15.34something to win, i swear to god the russians routine was just as good as gabby's and she didnt win... Now i know tenths of points make big differences, so i cant see how viktoria didnt score at least a 15.5
and dont say im hating on gabby or america because im american. i just feel like the poor russian girl got robbed
