Goodes is the best known of the protected species Protected Species (n) pronounced Gu^des. A football player who can run into a contest, knock his opponent's head off, throw his arms up in the air, whinge a bit and emerge with the free kick. Alt - a player who can front tribunals and have the umpires suspended. Usually seen in small groups with Brownlow draped around their necks. Synonyms - Liberatore snr, Judd and Tony Shaw.

Random beat me to it with Goodsey...seems to have gotten away with a bit, if you listen to what Matthews and quite a few other footy followers have said over the years.

Adam Goodes, according to Leigh Matthews. ;)

Bloody umpires !!! They should be named and shamed
