I regularly read my teams and its always the same players getting singled out for poor performance but yet they don't improve. Do they care enough about their fans to read such comments and try and improve? It could be the opposite. If they do indeed read forums and see they are getting singled out for abuse, it could demolish their confidence. They may try and improve but they know that if they make one mistake they'll be metaphorically burnt at the stake
