Ball hitting an umpire?

An umpire is termed to be a neutral object, to the point that if an umpire is not notice during the game, he has indeed umpire well. In the storm in a tea cup controversy of the ball hitting the umpire on it's way to the goals, is no different than the ball hitting the field umpire and stopping a certain goal. Our so called ex super star commentators failed to mention this during their commentary, I am as vocal as the next guy comes regarding umpires, but to me the goal umpires only mistake was being caught on the wrong foot, payers do it all the time and it is soon forgotten. Why he was suspended by the umpires board is beyond me, seems the board was influenced by public opinion, mis-informed as it may be. Why more attention is not given to cleaning up the ever increasing number of scrimmages, the game is starting to look like Rugby Union. would be my first priority! An umpire is termed to be a neutral object, to the point that if an umpire is not notice during the game, he has indeed umpire well.
