Are Major League Baseball players allowed to taunt each other?

Taunting at that level is against the rules. Unsportsmanlike contact, player ejected.

They used to be able to taunt each other. When the Cubs were playing against Babe Ruth's Yankees in the world series, the Cubs were taunting The Babe from the dug out as he batted. He pointed to the Cubs bench and said that he still has one more strike, a photographer snapped a picture of him bringing his pointed finger back to the bat and said he was pointing at the fence. If we had TV in those days, that rumour would have stopped before sun down, but like The Babe said, no I didn't point at the fence but it sure made a good story didn't it. Today it is considered unclassy to taunt players on the other team and as someone said, he could be penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct and ejected from the game.

Taunting used to be more part of the game before players moved around so much. Now players on opposite teams know they could be team mates the next season for one thing. Pujols is an Angel now but was a Cardinal a couple of years ago. What you are talking about would be considered interference and he would be ejected for it. It would be very unprofessional and unsportsmanlike as well. It also would not acting very Christ like and Pujols claims to follow Jesus.

What you're describing goes way beyond taunting and borders on interference. That turd from the Yankees tried something like that 10-12 years ago and he was called out. The same probably would have happened if that turd from the Angels had done that last night.

The NFL is taking the crackdown on taunting to the extreme, flagging players for using "bad words", but I understand why they're doing it. Taunting is childish and detracts from the game. Fans pay good money to watch @ssholes like Richard Sherman play ball, not flap their oversized lips.

A baseball player that attempts that puts himself at risk. Sometime some game he will be standing at home plate either way ahead or way down in the game and the pitcher will recall him being an ********. Ooops the ball got away from me and hit you squarely between your shoulder blades at 96 mph. hope that doesn't hurt too much.

If you're asking if a batter/runner can interfere with a fielder's attempt to catch a ball, that's illegal.

Sometimes. A-Fraud screamed at an infielder who was catching a routine pop-up

a few years ago.

That would be completely unprofessional. Plus it would turn him into a target for an inside fastball next time up.

They have to be careful about their taunting or they will get hit by a pitch next time they bat.....!!

I dont care if they taunt each other. They should just ignore it and focus more on winning the game.

I'm watching the ALDS and Albert Pujols popped a high flyball into the infield. The first baseman had to stand on the 1st baseline, like 10 feet away from home plate, in order to catch it. Pujols kinda just jogged and was very close to the 1st basemen when the out was made.

I wanted Albert to stand directly in front of the first basemen, staring at him and just say **** like "Don't miss it, bro. Don't miss it. Make sure to catch it, bro." Or he could do my preferred taunting method: reverse psychology. "Aw man, this is such an easy play. There is NO WAY you'll miss it. You're gonna catch this one, bro."

Would Albert get in trouble? I feel like he would, but there's no reason he should. It's literally the same as a batter running the bases while talking to himself; it just so happens in this circumstance the 1st basemen would be able to hear him, and the comments the batter made "seem" to be directed toward the 1st basemen.

You never see taunting in sports and I don't understand why. It would be really hard to enforce that kind of thing, and it could really throw off the opponents psychologically.

As per social sciences by-laws they should not allow their offspring also to do any such mischief.
