Money doesn't buy wins, players earn wins.
And injuries haven't really been helping the Yankees too
Because a team that is built to succeed in the regular season sometimes has trouble winning short series against quality opponents.
Also, the pervasive notion that the Yankees "should" win the World Series every year is part of what makes Yankees fan so insufferable.
They have 2 World Series and have appeared in. 4. There not going to win a World Series.
Their players are old. And they did win the 2009 World Series.
**** happens... I agree that its that its actually surprising they haven't won more, because on paper they had quite a lineup every season.
But that proves that a team has to have chemistry, and its not about super stars. Look at moneyball.
Other teams are also good.
A lot of those players got OLD.
Because they weren't the only team with good players.
Every year between 01 and this season they were so incredibly loaded with talent and guys that could hit 30 plus home runs every year. They paid huge contracts to successful pitchers. And yet they repeatedly failed in the playoffs, despite often having home field advantage throughout. In the ALDS, they lost to the Angels twice, Detroit twice, Cleveland once. In the ALCS they lost to Boston, Texas and Detroit. In the World Series they lost to Arizona and Florida. Only one year since 01 have they won it all. Why? Shouldn't they have won it like 5 or 6 times?
