There are some new umpires this year, and we had the first midseason callup of an umpire in a long time. Haven't heard much about them, which I guess is a good thing.
I don't usually answer questions like this. It's a hard and most times thankless job. But I do have a strong opinion on this one. What kind of surprised me was 2 of the first 3 people to answer before me also match my opinion. It's CB Bucknor. I saw him umpire as far back as the Eastern League (AA). He was in over his head then. How he ever made it to MLB only MLB can answer.
