Chipmunk. Manager of the 1978 Red Sox, a team which managed to blow a 14 game lead and lose a playoff game. Thanks, Chipmunk. Generally sad to see him go, but thus is the way of things.
All that he did for baseball since it was his life for 65 years. He was a true legend and will be missed.
The worst thing was what Pedro did to him.
That He was an Awesome part of Baseballs history... :)
Definitely the fight against Pedro. I hate the Red Sox but I'm also not a Yankees fan and I will just say that Pedro Martinez was just protecting himself against the big fat manager running towards him getting ready to throw a punch.
Hat flying off and yelling and kicking dirt at umpires and hos whole head turning red
RIP ZIm
and somehow not blowing steam while Managing the Cubs
I remember him more as a manager than a player. That, and of course, the cheeks.
Zimmer versus Pedro!
Could have sworn Pedro was going to DDT him.
That;s a drag. He is a legend.
And yes, Fighting Pedro.
Wearing the combat helmet in the Yankee dugout after getting hit in the head with a foul ball.
He is gone at 83
