No, there is slo-pitch softball which most people over 18 play, then there is fastpitch softball which is for much superior players and players with skill and I've always wondered why are these players playing fastpitch softball when they could be playing baseball which is a much more softer game with the possibility of making a lot of money while playing it.

Softball refers to any variation of the sport using a larger ball than the standard 9" baseball. The two most common types of softball are fastpitch & slowpitch.
The names tell you exactly what to expect. In fastpitch the pitcher must throw underhand but is allowed to pitch the ball as fast as they possibly can. In slowpitch the pitcher must lob the ball slowly toward home plate.
So all "fastpitch" is a type of softball, but not all softball is fastpitch.
