Basketball is not even close to baseball. If you want to watch a exciting basketball game, go to your gym and cheer on your local High School team. The NBA is as phony as wrestling.And even if it was not phony, the players are too good, too much scoring that it is boring. But HEY, the home team wins 80% of the time, c'mon! How dumb can you be. Management tells the refs who is to win this game or that game, and the players and ex players learn to keep their mouths shut. The refs decisions make all the difference in the world.
Baseball is #1. Where else would you see an average 40,000 fans nearly everyday. (Dodgers average is higher). By contrast, football plays once a week and does not average any higher than 40,000. Basketball is not played everyday usually, but the biggest attendance I know of is 19,000
And baseball fans don't get bored watching 162 games a season.
Baseball is #2, with basketball and hockey coming in #3 and 4. Many fans have difficulty relating to the mindless ghetto rats playing in the NBA so that sport isn't as popular as you may think.
