There seems to be little if any "art" in the thuggery and brawl displayed in MMA and the fighters themselves seem to have little if any real skill.
Ronda Rousey is one of the few whom one sees using her traditional art, with hips throws, sweeps and other judo take downs along with her excellent ground and submission skills. Her male counterparts could learn a lot from her.
It's being used as sport. The people who practice it are usually a jack of a few martial arts and a master of none.
