Are Cubs fans still mad about Steve Bartman?

Because it totally was his fault that the Cubs totally surrendered and allowed eight runs.

"Because it totally was his fault that the Cubs totally surrendered and allowed eight runs." How sad you believe and spew that line.

Besides Bartman, there were 39,576 other paid admissions to that game. It was easy to find an uninvolved scapegoat to justify why the Cubs gave up 8 runs to the Marlins in the 8th inning.

Read the updated reports on the non-fan interference foul ball that Alou admitted he couldn't have caught yet over-reacted to in the heat of the moment. If Robin had been where Bartman was, there would still be stupid questions today about the faults of Robin.

Add: I see no irony in whatever you're trying to say. It's only ironic you weren't sitting in Bartman's seat because I can predict you would have done exactly the same thing he did.

There is a good ESPN 30 for 30 documentary titled "Cathing Hell" about Bartman and his life since then. It is a must see. I won't give anything away but my impression is that most Cubs fans have forgiven him.

I don't believe in curses or blame him for doing something 99.9% of other fans would have done, namely reach for a batted ball. If Gonzalez had not committed the error at short or if Prior, Alou and the rest of the team had kept their composure the outcome may very well have been different.

I wouldn't waste my time trying to figure Cubs fans out.

No.

Because it totally was his fault that the Cubs totally surrendered and allowed eight runs.
