actually Joe in the golden era it was Manly v Parra and i still think that rivalry exists today. If you are talking about their biggest rival for the comp this year i don't see them getting anywhere near the premiership race at the end of the season proper.
In the golden era it was manly vs Canterbury. In the modern era I would say manly and the storm as they have been the 2 most consistent teams over the last few years.

I think Manly's golden era is over, they are still a good side and will make the top 8 most likely. However, don't think they will make the top 4. Rabbitohs Storm Roosters Bulldogs One of these four will do well this year. Sharks Cowboys These two teams will be competitive as well.

Manlys biggest rival well LOL that could be Bill P ! but in the past (golden era) as someone put it, Manly V Parra was the game to watch ( think this was Parra's golden era, they have'nt had any since ). In their history Manly have only missed the finals once or twice, not a bad record, remember they were written off before a ball was kicked last season, and they won in 2011 when noone gave them a hope in hell of making the GF let alone winning it. Lots of big money at other clubs now and they are buying up big , but no sweat The Eagles will ALWAYS stand tall money or no money. I would say today their "biggest " rivals in this era would be any of the other 15 clubs that make up the NRL.
