Melbourne. But when I think of "the red legs" I automatically think of Norwood (SANFL)

From what I know I would say Melbourne. In the WAFL the Perth FC were officially known as the Redlegs, because of their red socks. Perth wear the same colours as Essendon. However the powers to be, at the Perth club, decided they needed a more aggressive sounding nickname &changed it to the Demons. Is this the same reason Melbourne changed their nickname?
