As Kurt said. The problem with the AFL drug policy is that in any other sport a player is suspended for any use of a prohibited substance, they do not get second and third chances as they do in AFL.
The drugs policy includes recreational drugs (the stuff YAHOO's on) and performance-enhancing drugs (e.g. Doctor Dank). For the recreational drugs, it's a strike policy, but for the latter it's an immediate ban, ranging from a couple of years to lifetime.
I reckon it's more of a case of asking the question 'does the AFL's integrity unit work'. because personally this so-called 'integrity unit' is failing miserably when it comes to the question of drugs in our code of footy. Cheers.
